New wells in Togo

The inhabitants of Gamé-Sèva participate in the choice of the site of the well
The search for the right place to dig the well

Thanks to a generous donation for the construction of wells, we were able to finance the construction of two new wells in Togo.

The wells were dug near two villages: Kpala and Gamé-Sèva, located in the maritime area of Togo, respectively 35 and 70 km from the capital Lomé.

In these villages there were no wells that provided drinking water.

To get drinking water, the women of Kpala need to go to Zanguéra, 5 km away, and in Gamé-Sèva the availability of water is ensured only by collecting rainwater in tanks and various containers.

The search for water is a heavy commitment for women and seriously reduces the time to dedicate to other activities.

The construction of the wells is followed locally by the non-profit organization APMED, which since 2018 has already built four other wells for Come Noi in the villages of Afagnan Gbleta, Sandale Kope, Tonui Kope, Bogou and built the high school in Afagnan Gbleta.

Kristian Katou, the APMED contact for Come Noi, left for Togo at the beginning of April to start the work necessary for digging the wells, which should be completed in May.

The Gamé-Sèva well is finished!
