Dispensary of the Somone Library

The project was born from the need to provide the dispensary of the Somone library with medical technical equipment and ensure the presence of a paediatrician once a month. The dispensary serves an area with  more than 10.000 inhabitants, where 35 children per month are born. Dr Niang and dr Bassene, our medical doctors on site, continue to work for  free at  the dispensary,  continuing a collaboration born with the project and consolidated over time. Cultivation of vegetables at a secondary school

The project involves the cultivation of vegetables in the area of a secondary school attended by about 150 students. The vegetable garden measures 25 by 15 meters, is located  near the school,  fenced and and has easy access to water. The first crop has been sold and the income used for administration expenses of the small school. The garden is managed by the students, looked aftert by a teacher and with clear educational aims: it is very important that children learn how to cultivate the land. RWANDA School canteen at Gituza

The project was started in 2017, when we accepted the request of the parish priest of Gituza to contribute to the creation of a school canteen for 120 nursery and primary school pupils. Malnourished children, orphans or from poor families. It provides for a gradual involvement of the population, in order to bring the canteen to self-sufficiency, through  the cultivation of vegetables, and the breeding of animals by the work of the local people.
